Got Warts?

Cryosurgery is here!

As they age, many dogs develop small benign skin growths. These can be found anywhere on the body, head or legs. Certain breeds have a greater tendency to develop these, such as poodles, bichons, and terriers, though they can occur in any breed at any age. As they grow these masses can become irritated, often being nicked by grooming or chewed by the pets themselves.

Cryosurgery uses liquid nitrogen to freeze small skin masses. This procedure has been performed in human medicine for many years, and can also be used in animals. It is a quick and painless alternative to traditional surgical removal, without the use of general anesthesia. Freezings can be done on multiple growths at the same time on an outpatient basis.

If you think your pet many be a candidate for cryosurgery, please ask one of our doctors for more information.
