Physical Exams and Vaccinations
Regular complete physical exams are the key to your pet's health and longevity. At these exams the veterinarian will carefully check your pet's:
- Weight and overall body condition
- Temperature
- Breathing and lung sounds
- Pulse and general heart condition
- Ears
- Nose
- Eyes
- Joints
- Skin and coat
- Paws and nails
- Any lumps, bumps or growths
There are no "silly questions" when it comes to your pet's health. If you notice any change in your pet, no matter how slight it may seem, tell your veterinarian at your next appointment.
For young, healthy animals we recommend complete exams once a year when vaccine boosters are due. Once a pet reaches their senior years, usually around 8-10 years old, depending on breed and size, we recommend physical exams twice a year. In older cats and dogs, seemingly small changes can quickly escalate into more urgent medical problems. By seeing your pet more often, our veterinarians will be better able to diagnose any issues or diseases early.
Please visit the Puppy/Dog Vaccinations and Kitten/Cat Vaccinations pages for your pet's recommended vaccine protocol.
